Inter coach Simone Inzaghi revealed that he was satisfied with his team’s performance in their 3-1 win over Udinese in Serie A yesterday evening.

The Nerazzurri returned to winning ways thanks to a first half Romelu Lukaku penalty, before Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Lautaro Martinez scored in the second half to secure victory, after Udinese’s Sandi Lovric had earlier equalised.

In an interview with Inter TV, the club’s inhouse television channel, and as reported by FCInterNews.it, the former Lazio coach offered his thoughts on the win and felt that the goal conceded was the only disappointing aspect of his side’s display.

“We knew we would meet a physical team with quality and that it would be a difficult match, but we saw an excellent Inter side that played a great game,” Inzaghi claimed.

“I liked everything apart from the goal we took. We had to be better. The rest was done as an important team that wanted the victory at all costs.

“I’m very happy with those who played and those who took over. Every day the players who worked make it difficult for me to make choices.”

Inter now turn their attention to the Champions League and a meeting with Portuguese club Porto in the Round of 16 on Wednesday, and Inzaghi was expecting a difficult match at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

“They are an organised, strong team with the same coach for years. So it will be a very tough game that we will try to do in the best possible way,” he concluded.

Inter take on Bologna in Serie A next Sunday after facing Porto, as they look to secure a top four finish in the league.
