Inter strikers Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez scored in the same match for the first time in almost two years, as the Nerazzurri beat Udinese 3-1 yesterday.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, the pair netted together for the first time this season, and had not done so since Lukaku departed for Chelsea in 2021, before returning to Inter on loan this season.

Indeed, 636 days had passed between the two strikers scoring in a win over Udinese in May 2021 and their goals against the same opposition at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza yesterday.

Whilst they had formed a devastating attacking partnership under former coach Antonio Conte, they were not on the pitch together at the same time yesterday, with Martinez replacing Lukaku in the second half.

Lukaku has struggled for form this season and has only scored twice in Serie A, with his goal against the Zebrette his first since the opening day of the season.
