There has been some tension growing behind the scenes between Inter and midfielder Marcelo Brozovic since the team’s return from the World Cup.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the player’s injuries and how he has performed at club level contrasted with his national team have seen some friction, which could push the player to depart this summer.
Brozovic has missed the majority of the current season with injuries, and whilst the Croat is now back in action, the sense is that he is still not contributing at his best.
This is in contrast to the 30-year-old’s sparkling form for Croatia at the World Cup in Qatar.
There is some frustration on the club’s part directed at the way that Brozovic has managed his injuries, between club and international football.
This is part of the reason why Brozovic was linked with a possible departure as part of a swap deal with Barcelona for Franck Kessie in January, and the undercurrent has hardly gone away.
