Tottenham Hotspur and former Inter and Juventus coach Antonio Conte is very open to coming back to Serie A next season, and the Nerazzurri have been in contact.

This according to UK news outlet The Times, who claim that the coach is growing homesick and would like a return to Italy, with the Nerazzurri and also Roma as possible destinations for him.

Conte remains in charge of Tottenham, and he will return to the touchline for the London-based club’s Champions League round of sixteen second leg against AC Milan tomorrow evening.

However, according to The Times, not only is the 53-year-old coach’s future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium uncertain on the basis of his team’s up-and-down form in the Premier League this season, but also due to events in his personal life.

Conte has been recovering from gallbladder surgery, something which has seen him unable to be at a number of Tottenham’s matches in recent weeks with his assistant Christian Stellini on the touchline in his absence.

According to The Times, even though the former Chelsea and Italy boss will be back for tomorrow’s massive match against AC Milan, his future at Tottenham is very much up in the air, partly due to some of his recent health issues.

The UK-based outlet claim that the coach would be inclined to move back to his home country after dealing with his recent health issues, and that this could push him further out the door at his current club.

If Conte were to move back to Serie A, a return to Inter would be a concrete possibility according to The Times, and the Nerazzurri are aware of the situation as they have contacted the former coach, who was on the bench between 2019 and 2021.

Meanwhile, Roma is also suggested as a possible destination for Conte in the event that Jose Mourinho were to leave and a high-profile replacement sought, whilst AC Milan and Juventus are much less plausible according to The Times.
