Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is not expecting a straightforward match against a Spezia side who have proven to have quality and the ability to get results in Serie A, but he is determined to take the victory.
Speaking to InterTV ahead of this evening’s Serie A clash with the Aquilotti at the Stadio Alberto Picco, via FCInterNews, the 34-year-old gave his thoughts on the opposition and on the Nerazzurri’s aims for the match.
Inter will know that there won’t be any lack of motivation from a Spezia team who are fighting for the points necessary to keep themselves in Serie A.
Moreover, the Ligurians have proven to have technical, physical and tactical quality all over the pitch even if their position in the league table sees them not far above the relegation places.
For Inter midfielder Mkhitaryan, this evening’s trip to La Spezia will pose a real challenge that isn’t to be underestimated, but the Nerazzurri midfielder believes that a result can be there for the team if they give their all.
“They have quality players, they’re a strong team,” the Armenian said of this evening’s opposition.
“They’ve been playing under a new coach for two matches now, they play a different formation than before.”
“We’re well prepared for the system of play that they employ, we’ll do everything we can to win,” he added.
Of matches against teams lower down in the table, the 34-year-old said that “They’re tough matches, not just this one but all of them.”
“We’re ready though, we’ve done the analysis we need to be prepared for this match,” he went on.
“Let’s see what happens, but we’ve come here to take all three points.”
Of the fact that he has been fairly prolific scoring goals from midfielder but has only assisted one in Serie A, Mkhitaryan said that “I haven’t made any assists in a little bit, but I hope to get back to it soon.”
“In any event, the important thing is for the team to play well, and I aim to be at my best and play to help my teammates,” he added.l
