Italian journalist Marco Barzaghi expects that Club Brugge winger Tajon Buchanan is still the player who Inter are most keen on to replace Denzel Dumfries if the Dutchman leaves in the summer.

Reporting in a video on his YouTube channel, Barzaghi explained that Dumfries is a prime candidate to be sold this summer as the Nerazzurri need to make a net profit of €20 million in the transfer window, and that Buchanan is lined up to replace him.

It is widely reported that Inter are still in need of a significant profit in the transfer window this summer, even if this has been lessened somewhat by the fact that the team have reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

According to Barzaghi, the number that the Nerazzurri are now targeting is around €20 million.

The Italian journalist also confirms that, as has been widely reported for weeks now, Dumfries would likely to be one of the main names who the Nerazzurri would look to cash in on in the summer.

“Lukaku’s goal against Porto meant that Inter have brought in an extra €20 million [for reaching the Champions League quarterfinals],” Barzaghi noted, “so that means they go from seeking a €40 million net profit to more like €20 million.”

“A big sale of Dumfries still looks to be very likely to be the way that they seek to meet this target, and could be enough on its own,” he added.

Barzaghi continued that “If he is to be sold, then they’re still big fans of Tajon Buchanan as the player to come in and replace him.”
