Chelsea Striker Aubameyang Could Replace Lukaku At Inter Milan Next Season, Italian Media Report

Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of the names who Inter are looking at in attack for if Romelu Lukaku isn’t brought back next season.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri are monitoring the situation of the 33-year-old Gabonese international, who would be open to the move.
Much of Inter’s plans in attack for next season will be based around whether or not Lukaku stays at the club for another season.
The Belgian’s struggles for fitness and form this season have made it appear relatively unlikely that the Nerazzurri will decide to extend his loan from Chelsea, although a possible change of coach could also affect their decision.
In any event, the Gazzetta reports, Inter are keeping their options open in attack, and one player they are looking at seriously is former AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, and Arsenal striker Aubameyang.
The 33-year-old arrived at Chelsea from Barcelona last summer, but the Blues would already be keen to offload his contract.
Meanwhile, the player still feels a connection to the city of Milan having spent significant time in the city whilst under contract with Inter’s city rivals AC Milan, and would be open to join the Nerazzurri.
