Inter Milan could agree a contract extension with defender Alessandro Bastoni worth around €6 million net per season.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported live on air this evening, via FCInterNews, that this could be the figure that is reached in negotiations between the Nerazzurri and the 23-year-old’s representatives.

Inter are very keen to get a contract extension ironed out with Bastoni, who is an integral part of the team and whose current deal runs out at the end of June 2024.

The Italian international and his representatives are seeking a deal worth around €7 million net per season to reflect his importance to the team, according to Di Marzio.

However, he continues, the Nerazzurri could go as high as around €6 million net per season plus add-ons with their offer, and this would potentially be enough to get a deal fully agreed.

Given that Bastoni is such an integral player in the Nerazzurri’s squad, there would be little chance of the Nerazzurri abandoning talks, which are now moving along after a meeting with the 23-year-old’s agent Tulio Tinti today.

Reports in the past couple days have suggested that Inter could even decide to sell Bastoni in the summer if they are unable to reach an agreement on a new deal, rather than risking losing him on a free transfer at the end of next season.

However, the player’s agent spoke today after meeting with the Nerazzurri, making clear that Bastoni’s desire is to stay at Inter as he is a fan of the Nerazzurri.

Bastoni has made 148 appearances for Inter since joining the club from Atalanta in the summer of 2017, bedding into the first team during the 2019-20 season.

During that time, he has won the Serie A title, two Supercoppa Italiana trophies, and the Supercoppa Italiana last season.
