Inter are not currently considering Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi to be a target, as he would be out of their price range.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri can not afford the minimum €40 million fee that the Neroverdi would ask for Frattesi, and so there is little to the rumours that they could move for him this summer.

Given that Inter met with Frattesi‘s agent Beppe Riso a couple of evenings ago, there were some rumours regarding a possible move for the Sassuolo man.

However, FCIN report, the meeting with Riso actually concerned another of the agent’s clients, namely defender Lorenzo Pirola who’s currently on loan with Salernitana.

The outlet notes that, whether or not Inter consider Frattesi a target, it would be a moot point as Sassuolo have made clear that the 23-year-old will not go cheap during the summer transfer window.

Neroverdi CEO Giovanni Carnevali has been open about the fact that he expects that if Frattesi leaves in the summer, which is looking likelier and likelier, it will be for a fee of no less than €4o million.

The Sassuolo executive compared this to the fee that was received when Gianluca Scamacca made the switch to West Ham United in the Premier League last summer, with Frattesi at a similar level in his view.

Moreover, there is the fact that Sassuolo owe a portion of any sale to Roma in the form of a sell-on clause, and so if Frattesi were to be sold for a fee of €40 million, the Giallorossi would get €12 million from the deal.

Frattesi has been linked with Inter as a possible replacement for Nicolo Barella in the past, in the event that a big Premier League club swoops in with a big offer for the former Cagliari midfielder.
