Young Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini feels that whilst he will consider the interest of some of Europe’s elite when the time comes, at the moment his priority is La Dea.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, via FCInterNews, the 19-year-old addressed his future amid transfer links to all of Inter, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and Atletico Madrid.

Scalvini has been one of the breakout stars of the current Serie A season.

Despite still being a teenager, this campaign has seen the young defender prove an adeptness at the highest level that is far beyond his year.

Given that the 19-year-old has shown a combination of versatility to play in different positions across the backline as well as a comfort with the ball at his feet and in the pass, it is little surprise that he has been linked with a number of big clubs.

Inter have long been reported to be among Scalvini’s main suitors.

The fact that the defender would likely cost no less than €40 million means that he looks to be an ambitious target for a club in Inter’s financial position.

However, if the Nerazzurri were to sell Alessandro Bastoni this summer should the 23-year-old not decide to extend his contract past the end of June 2024, then Scalvini would reportedly be their main target as a like-for-like replacement.

Meanwhile massive clubs from across the continent are also keeping tabs on Scalvini, with the likes of Liverpool, Bayern, and Atletico among those most strongly linked.

Asked about the links to this quartet, the 19-year-old replied that “I’m happy with being at Atalanta.”

“I’ve never paid too much attention to the rumours, so in any event it’s not like they’ve unsettled me much.”

“Maybe I’ll think about my future when the time comes, but for that time to come I’ll have to do well in the present.”
