Inter striker Edin Dzeko is still the favourite to start in tomorrow evening’s Coppa Italia semifinal second leg match against Juventus, ahead of Romelu Lukaku.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, who report that the 37-year-old is ahead in the race to start against the Bianconeri, with this comprising the only real selection doubt for Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi.

Inzaghi will aim to play his strongest possible starting eleven for tomorrow evening’s match against Juventus by and large.

The coach made a number of rotations to the starting eleven in the match against Empoli over the weekend, but against the Bianconeri, he is set to reinstate many of the first-choice options all over the pitch.

This will mean that Andre Onana will return in goal, with Samir Handanovic suspended for the clash anyway, whilst in defense Alessandro Bastoni and Matteo Darmian are set to regain their places.

According to Mediaset, it will be Hakan Calhanoglu rather than Marcelo Brozovic who starts at the base of midfield, with the likes of Nicolo Barella and Henrikh Mkhitaryan playing on either side of the trio.

On the left flank, Federico Dimarco is set to regain his starting place from Robin Gosens, whilst in attack Lautaro Martinez will start.

However, as far as the identity of the player who will be partnered with Martinez leading the line for Inter, Mediaset report that that is less clear.

It will be Lukaku and Dzeko who will play for the starting role alongside Martinez, and whilst Dzeko has been reported to be the favourite, Lukaku also made a case for himself with his outstanding display against Empoli on Sunday afternoon.

According to Mediaset, even with the performance that the Belgian put in at the Stadio Carlo Castellani, however, it will still be former Roma and Manchester City striker Dzeko who is the likelier of the two strikers to line up for Inter from the first whistle.
