Inter have marked out Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and Club Brugge winger Tajon Buchanan ass two of their main targets for the summer transfer window, but their pursuit of the pair will be conditioned by two factors.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who list Champions League qualification and prospective sales as the main factors that will play a big role in the Nerazzurri’s summer transfer business.

Inter are starting to put together their plans for a summer transfer window that is only a matter of weeks away from opening, but they do so with great uncertainty around whether or not they will have the revenues from next season’s Champions League at their disposal.

Accordingly, Tuttosport report that the club are not in a position to make a firm investment in 24-year-old Canadian national team star Tajon Buchanan yet.

Meanwhile, the Canadian would only be signed on the condition of Denzel Dumfries leaving during the summer.

A similar situation is certainly the case with Empoli keeper Vicario, who is a major target but only in the event that Chelsea-linked Andre Onana were to be out the door.

At the moment, the Nerazzurri are awaiting certainty about the future vis-a-vis the Champions League before they can start planning their incomings and outgoings for this summer.

A similar situation can also be said to characterize Inter’s plans in midfield for the summer as well, Tuttosport suggests.

There is a real chance that Marcelo Brozovic could be sold in addition to Roberto Gagliardini’s anticipated departure on a free transfer.

Should there be Champions League revenues to count on, then the Nerazzurri’s targets to shore up midfield would be Sassuolo’s Davide Frattesi and Barcelona’s Franck Kessie.

On the other hand, without the Champions League, Inter sense a free transfer opportunity in the form of Udinese and former Juventus and Watford midfielder Roberto Pereyra.
