Inter wingback Robin Gosens is expected to be out for around ten days whilst he recovers from a dislocated shoulder suffered during yesterday afternoon’s 3-1 Serie A win over Lazio.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the German will target a return for the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Sassuolo later this month.

Yesterday Gosens came off the bench against Lazio, scoring Inter’s all-important winning goal.

However, this ironically proved to be the moment when the former Atalanta man injured himself, as he fell awkwardly following his acrobatic volley of a Romelu Lukaku cross to put the ball past Biancocelesti keeper Ivan Provedel.

Gosens immediately signalled that he would not be able to continue.

Shortly after the match, the club confirmed that Gosens had suffered a dislocated shoulder, and that the club’s medical team were treating him as soon as he came off the pitch as a substitute.

Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi also confirmed that the problem for the 28-year-old was a dislocated shoulder during his post-match remarks.

According to the Gazzetta, no surgery will be required for Gosens, and the likely timeline for him to recover from his injury should be a little over a week, with the newspaper anticipating that he’ll be out for around ten days.

This will mean that the German will not be able to be part of Inter’s squad for Serie A matches away to Hellas Verona or Roma.

However, the Gazzetta reports that the target for Gosens to be back in action will be the league match against Sassuolo at the San Siro on May 13.

Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, reports similarly that Gosens is set for a little over a week on the shelf as he recovers, and anticipates that over the coming days it will be clear whether or not he will be fit for the two-legged Champions League semifinal derby against AC Milan.
