Inter Milan wingback Robin Gosens will miss the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Milan after sustaining a shoulder injury in last Sunday’s win over Lazio.

FcInterNews confirmed the German’s absence after undergoing additional medical tests on Tuesday including an IRM which determined the extent of his injury.

The source reveals that the 28-year-old won’t require any surgery, but will undergo conservative therapy for a week. Afterwards, the club’s medical staff will re-evaluate his condition.

Therefore, Gosens is expected to miss out on the much-anticipated EuroDerby in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final which will take place on May 10.

This automatically means that the former Atalanta star will skip this midweek’s trip to Verona and next weekend’s crucial clash against Roma at the Olimpico Stadium.

Nonetheless, the Nerazzurri will be hoping to regain the services of the wingback when they host Sassuolo at the Giuseppe Meazza on May 13.

This would serve as a timely warmup ahead of the decisive second leg against the Rossoneri in the Champions League.

In the meantime, Federico Dimarco will have to work extra shifts on the left flank in the absence of his backup.

Gosens sustained the shoulder injury by falling heavily on the ground after scoring Inter’s second goal in Sunday’s memorable 3-1 victory over Lazio.
