Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi remained coy ahead of tonight’s’s UEFA Champions League Semifinal against local rivals A.C. Milan and did not want to reveal if Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic or Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku would start.

The former Lazio manager made these comments in an interview yesterday to Italian broadcaster Sportmediaset, as reported via Milan based Inter Milan news-site by FCInterNews.

Inzaghi underlined that he knows that there are important choices he needs to make in midfield as well as upfront, including whether or not to start Marcelo Brozovic in midfield or Romelu Lukaku up front.

However, the tactician argued that the fact that he has these choices available to him to decide on, made made him feel calm.

“I know that I have choices to make and that I have the possibility to choose in midfield and upfront. I need everyone and this makes me calm,” said Inzaghi.

The Inter Milan manager believes that the potential absence of A.C. Milan winger Rafael Leao will not alter the Nerazzurri’s game plan even if he remains an important player for the Rossoneri.

“We know that Leao is important and we know his qualities. Even if he plays tomorrow, it will not change our game plan.

“At most, we will take precautions,” continued the Inter manager.

Simone Inzaghi – ‘The Derby Of All Derbies’

The former Lazio striker underlined that he understands the historical importance of this UEFA Champions League semifinal derby and knows that the first leg is only halftime in that tie.

“It is not a derby, but the derby of all derbies. The game is very important and we have to be smart and use our heads because there will be unknowns.

“It is a game that will be played over 180 minutes,” concluded Inzaghi.

Inzaghi joined Inter in June 2021 and he has already won an Italian Supercoppa and a Coppa Italia in his first two seasons in charge.

He has already managed over one hundred games for the Nerazzurri with win percentage of 62%.
