Hakan Calhanoglu could be called to start by Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi in tonight’s Champions League semifinal first leg against AC Milan.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia reporter Marco Barzaghi live on air moments ago, as reported via Milan based Inter Milan news-site FcInter1908.

According to the report, the Nerazzurri coach is considering to field Turkish international midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu from start.

However, Simone Inzaghi is considering starting Croatian international midfielder Marcelo Brozovic as well as Azzurri Euro 2020 midfielder Nicolo Barella next to the Turk.

This means that veteran Armenian international midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan starts the match on the bench.

A surprising move, should it materialize, given all reports up until now have claimed the former Roma man would start.

No final decision has been made by the Nerazzurri coach yet, but chances of a Calhanoglu-Brozovic-Barella midfield starting for the second consecutive match for Inter Milan are increasing.

Aside from that, the former Lazio coach isn’t expected to make too many changes to the starting lineup that defeated Roma on the weekend except for in attack.

Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko is expected to start up front next to Argentina FIFA World Cup champion Lautaro Martinez.

In defence, it’s an all Italian national team back three with Matteo Darmian and Alessandro Bastoni playing on either side of Francesco Acerbi.

On the wings Dutch international wingback Denzel Dumfries is set to start on the right with Italy international Federico Dimarco starting on the left.

Cameroon goalkeeper André Onana is set to start in goal relegating Inter captain Samir Handanovic to the bench, the report concludes.
