Former Inter Milan defender Daniele Adani feels that the Nerazzurri’s display against AC Milan was similar to a Man City performance.

Speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel, via FCInter1908, the former defender praised the Nerazzurri’s dominant Champions League match.

Particularly in the first half of yesterday’s semifinal first leg, Inter certainly looked to be the team in the ascendancy.

Despite the Milan derby typically being a balanced and unpredictable fixture, the Nerazzurri looked to be in fairly firm control.

For former Inter defender Adani, the way that the Nerazzurri dominated the match was comparable to another Champions League semifinalist.

The former defender compared what he saw to the displays of current Premier League leaders Man City.

Stylistic Similarities Between Inter Milan & Man City Highlighted

Adani suggested that “They all get forward and they occupy all the positions well.

“In terms of getting men free and possession, that’s also something that we see Man City do,” he noted.

“In terms of teams in the Italian league, Inter do that better than anyone else,” Adani continued.

Of the match against Milan as a whole, the former defender said that “Inter showed clear superiority, even more than I expected.”

“In 2003 things were in the balance until the last second, this time the balance shifted strongly in the first couple minutes.”

“I didn’t think there was such a big difference between the two teams,” Adani added.

“But the pitch tells the truth, and the truth is that Inter are much, much better.”

“The former defender was glowing in his review of the coach, saying that “Inzaghi did spectacularly.”

Moreover, Adani also enjoyed what he saw from the Nerazzurri’s early goalscorer and man of the match Edin Dzeko.

“Dzeko was absolutely lethal,” he said of the Bosnian former Roma and Man City striker’s first half performance.
