Former AC Milan coach Fabio Capello feels that his old team did not put up much of a resistance against Inter in the Champions League.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908, Capello was critical of the Rossoneri.

Inter kept their good recent run of form going yesterday on the biggest stage.

In a Milan derby with a place in the Champions League final at stake, the Nerazzurri dominated the first half.

Some of this came down to Inter’s efforts, regardless of the opposition.

However, some of the dynamic of the match also came down to the Rossoneri being far from their best.

Milan came into the match off the back of a statement win over Lazio in Serie A.

However, in one of the most hotly anticipated matches of the season, the Rossoneri seemingly failed to get going.

The second half did see Stefano Pioli’s men start to show their identity and quality with some more fervent pressing.

However, the first was much more one-sided than most had anticipated.

Fabio Capello Feels Inter Milan Weren’t Made To Work Too Hard In Derby

“The Rossoneri’s midfield was never able to screen the defense,” former Milan coach Fabio Capello argued.

“Inter’s quality was superior and created problems for the home side,” he added.

“The Rossoneri made too many mistakes, and they made far too many mistakes,” the former coach continued.

“They made it far too easy for Inter, the defending was very poor.”

“There was no aggression,” he said of Milan’s style of play.

“You don’t win just by attacking, you need balance to win, you can’t win without it,” he said.

“Inter had all of quality, determination, and aggression.”

“Milan showed their determination in the second half, but create much or finish their chances,” he said of the second half.
