Italian journalist Paolo Condo feels it’s no coincidence that Inter Milan seem to have AC Milan’s number.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908, the journalist argued that the Nerazzurri’s three consecutive wins in derbies indicate a greater pattern.

Inter had won their previous two matches against Milan going into yesterday’s Champions League semifinal first leg.

Meanwhile, it had been the Rossoneri who won the first league meetings.

Between Serie A and the Coppa Italia, last season there were two draws and one win apiece in Milan derbies.

Given how the form book is always ripped up in derbies, yesterday’s match was not regarded as having a favourite.

However, Inter followed up recent Supercoppa Italiana and Serie A victories with a third straight derby triumph.

In the view of Condo, this sequence indicates something clear.

The Italian journalist feels that a trend is undoubtedly emerging.

Inter Milan Make It Three Derby Wins In A Row Over AC Milan – No Coincidence?

Condo feels that there has been a clear superiority to the Nerazzurri over their city rivals in recent meetings.

“The same thing happening three times in a row can’t be a coincidence,” he argued.

“It means that Inter’s players are better.”

“In the past four months, Inter have  won three derbies,” Condo said.

“It’s not just an isolated incident, it’s a trend in 2023.”

“Inter absolutely played like their best selves yesterday,” he went on. “They have great willpower in these derbies.”

“If you wanted to give Milan reason to hope, our of the six halves of football played against Inter in 2023, the second yesterday was their best,” he added.

As for whether Inter have booked their place in the Champions League final, Condo feels that they have one foot there already.

“Inter have called Istanbul, they book but haven’t paid for the rooms yet,” he said.
