Inter Milan wingback Raoul Bellanova makes no secret of the Nerazzurri wanting to reach the Champions League final.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN following the team’s 4-2 Serie A win over Sassuolo, via FCInterNews, the 22-year-old reacted to the match and outlined the team’s goals for the rest of the season.

Inter’s win over Sassuolo was vital for their ambitions for the season.

Having dropped out of the top four of the Serie A table, the Nerazzurri have now solidly regained their place.

This is especially the case given the other results in the league this weekend. With Lazio drawing Inter move up to third with the win. And, AC Milan’s surprise loss to Spezia earlier today means that the Nerazzurri are now five points clear from their city rivals.

Meanwhile, Inter will once again face the Rossoneri in a derby match on Tuesday.

Concurrent to their pursuit of a top four spot in Serie A, the Nerazzurri are also pushing to reach the Champions League final.

Nothing is done yet after a 2-0 win over Milan in the first leg of the semifinal tie. However, the Nerazzurri will feel that there’s a real chance of them reaching European club football’s biggest match.

Raoul Bellanova: Inter Want Champions League Final

Wingback Bellanova gave his thoughts on the matter after the Nerazzurri beat Sassuolo in the league.

“The most thing important for us now is qualification for next season’s Champions League,” he said. “We want to wrap up qualification as soon as possible.”

“We wanted to win at home, and now we can better prepare for the match against Milan.”

Of his own form, Bellanova said that “I had a bad moment in the league, after the match against Empoli I had problems.”

Bellanova had been booed by some Nerazzurri supporters for his performance in a shock loss to Empoli at the San Siro in January.

“In stadiums like this, when you make a mistake the fans can start to get restless,” he said. “It happens when you’re representing such an important crest. But I have to thank my teammates who stuck with me and helped me get out of that period.”

Of what playing for Inter means to him, Bellanova said that “I’ve been a fan since I was a child. Every time I wear this shirt it’s a dream.”

“We’re also dreaming in the Champions League, we can’t wait to try and get to the final for our fans,” he added.

As for why he was taken off in the second half, Bellanova said that “I had a minor problem.”
