Inter wingback Raoul Bellanova admits that the boos he got at the San Siro in a match against Empoli weren’t easy.

Bellanova spoke to Italian broadcaster Inter TV immediately after the win as reported via Milan based Inter Milan news-site FCInterNews.

There the 22-year-old looked back at the difficulties of being jeered by sections of Nerazzurri supporters in a 0-1 loss at the San Siro, but also made clear that his teammates had his back.

Bellanova came on as a substitute in Inter’s shock 0-1 Serie A loss to Empoli in January.

It was a calamitous match in all senses for the Nerazzurri, with defender Milan Skriniar also getting himself sent off.

Evidently, the frustrations of many Inter fans in the stadium had boiled over. It was Bellanova who took a lot of the brunt of it, in the form of boos.

The 22-year-old put in a subpar display from the bench, and the fans didn’t hold back.

Inter Milan Wingback Raoul Bellanova – ‘San Siro Boos Not Easy’

Bellanova doesn’t try to hide the fact that receiving boos from the San Siro was hard on him.

“It wasn’t an easy moment for me,” the wingback said. “But we know that our fans demand a lot because Inter are a great club.”

“I think that when I came on in the Champions League, something changed,” he continued. “I have to thank my teammates who stayed by my side and supported me after that incident.”

Asked if the team were thinking a bit ahead to the Champions League after they went ahead 3-0 against Sassuolo, Bellanova admitted “Yes, maybe at 3-0 we were a little too focused on just managing the match.

“Luckily it all went well in the end and we brought home a great win.”

“Now we’re enjoying it, and thinking about the next match, where we could make history.”
