Inter Milan forward Joaquin Correa is part of the match day squad for tomorrow’s Champions League Semifinal clash with AC Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 28-year-old Argentine international will be fit for tomorrow evening’s match despite a minor injury.

Correa had started in Saturday evening’s Serie A match against Sassuolo.

However, the former Lazio forward came off the pitch at halftime but luckily the injury wasn’t serious.

Correa’s national teammate Lautaro Martinez replaced him on the pitch for the second half, with Inter winning a 4-2 thriller.

Injuries have unfortunately been a major theme of Correa’s time at Inter. Since joining from the Biancocelesti in the summer of 2021, the Argentine has had a number of spells on the sidelines.

Muscle injuries in particular have been setbacks for the ex-Biancocelesti man.

Moreover, even when Correa has been fit enough to play, match fitness has been a problem. The 28-year-old has not often looked like the player he had at Lazio, Sevilla, or Sampdoria in the past.

The chief issue has been an inability to build up momentum, rhythm, or chemistry with teammates. Correa has struggled to find his place in the Nerazzurri’s attack even in spite of his undoubted talent.

Joaquin Correa Could Still Have A Chance Vs AC Milan

Nevertheless, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has never lost faith in Correa. It had been the 47-year-old who brought the Argentine with him from Lazio in the summer of 2021.

Inzaghi has given Correa plenty of starting chances in recent matches. The coach has rotated his team extensively from match to match, particularly in attack.

Joaquin Correa joined Inter in the summer of 2021 from Lazio on a loan with an obligation to buy. Since then he has played 74 matches across all tournaments and scored 10 goals in the process.

His contract with Inter Milan will expire at the end of June 2025.
