Inter Milan Corporate CEO Alessandro Antonello feels that this evening’s match against AC Milan will be difficult, but is confident.
Speaking to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri executive gave his thoughts ahead of this evening’s Champions League clash.
Inter have one of the biggest matches of their entire season ahead of them.
A 2-0 advantage from the first leg does give them something to hold onto. However, they will know that they’re up against a Milan team capable of beating them to turn the situation around.
The Rossoneri will be playing with nothing to lose. Moreover, star man Rafael Leao is expected to be back on the pitch this evening.
Accordingly, Inter’s place in the final of the competition is anything but secure.
Antonello Confident Inter Can Get Past AC Milan At San Siro
Participation in the Champions League final would represent an enormous amount for either Inter or Milan.
There is of course the sporting side of things. Playing for European club football’s biggest trophy could crown this as one of either of the two city rivals’ greatest and most memorable seasons ever.
Then, there is the financial boost that reaching the final would represent. Both Inter and AC Milan have already brought in big money from this season’s Champions League.
Reaching the final would take either side’s earnings over the top.
Given the state of Italian football in a financial sense, reaching the Champions League final would be both a hugely impressive achievement for the Nerazzurri or the Rossoneri, and would help either greatly over the summer.
Antonello was asked by FCIN how he thinks this evening’s match, with so much at stake, will go.
“It will be tough,” the Nerazzurri executive said. “Definitely tough.”
“But we’re confident,” he said of the team’s chances of getting to the final.
