Antonio Cassano feels that AC Milan are virtually hopeless trying to get past Inter Milan this evening.

Speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel, via FCInter1908, the former Nerazzurri and Rossoneri forward gave a damning appraisal of Milan’s chances in tonight’s Champions League semifinal second leg, suggesting that Inter could play youth team players and still move on.

Inter have a two-goal advantage over their city rivals Milan from the first leg.

This is hardly the job done already, but it is a buffer that the Nerazzurri can build upon in this evening’s second leg.

Ultimately, more important than the scoreline after the first leg will be how the two teams play. If the Rossoneri can find another gear, they can quickly change the complexion of the tie.

The return of Rafael Leao could be a decisive factor. As could the boost in confidence from a more positive second half in the first leg, despite still losing the match.

Still, the fact remains that Inter have beaten Milan in each of the last three Milan derbies. Moreover, the Nerazzurri have done so in fairly emphatic fashion all three times, and kept three clean sheets.

Antonio Cassano Has No Doubt: Inter Milan Will Get Past AC Milan

Cassano has no faith in the Rossoneri’s chances of finally scoring and getting a win over Inter.

“Inter would have to put out seven youngsters from the Primavera team to get eliminated,” he said of this evening’s tie. “And even then, Milan might not beat them.”

“With or without Leao, there’s little change,” he argued. “Milan are inferior to Inter.”

“The Portuguese is not Kaka or Ronaldinho,” Cassano said of Milan’s star man. “I don’t see him as being at that level.”

“For me there’d have to be a catastrophe for Inter to get eliminated.”

“After the first leg, the performances of the past month, and the two-goal advantage, in my opinion there’s no chance for the Rossoneri,” Cassano made clear.

“But then, who knows, maybe for the umpteenth time my prediction will be wrong,” he added with a laugh.
