Young Lazio forward Luka Romero has been offered to Inter Milan on a free transfer.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the 18-year-old is set to leave the Biancocelesti on a free transfer and has been offered to Inter, although the Nerazzurri are wary due to the size of the agent commission that would be involved.

Argentine youth international Romero joined Lazio from Mallorca in the summer of 2021.

The 18-year-old has made a total of 21 appearances for Maurizio Sarri’s side over the past two seasons. He has scored one goal for the Biancocelesti in the process.

However, Romero looks set to depart from the Stadio Olimpico in the summer, according to FCIN. Lazio are unable to agree a new deal with the player and his representatives.

According to FCIN, a key stumbling block in talks between the club between the club from the Italian capital and Romero would be the agent commission involved in negotiations.

The news outlet report that the player and his representatives are seeking agent fees of around €5 million. Lazio are not keen to pay that amount.

Young Lazio Star Luka Romero Offered To Inter

Now, Romero’s representatives are on the lookout for a new club for the Argentine teenager.

According to FCIN, Inter are one of the clubs who have been contacted.

Given that Romero would arrive on a free transfer, he is a natural target for the Nerazzurri in some respects. Looking for free transfer has been a key pillar of Inter’s transfer strategy in recent years. CEO Beppe Marotta has spoken about this.

Moreover, FCIN notes, Romero’s tactical versatility would be an asset for a team like Inter. The 18-year-old can play anywhere from as a second striker to attacking midfielder or even as a wingback.

However, the outlet reports, the Nerazzurri are put off the deal for the same reason that Lazio are not likely to agree Romero a new deal. Inter would have little intention of paying the sizable agent fees being demanded to sign the player.
