Legendary former AC Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi feels that Inter won’t start “already beaten” against Man City.

Writing in his column in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInter1908, the iconic former Rossoneri coach gave his thoughts on the approach of the Nerazzurri going into next month’s Champions League final as underdogs.

Inter will know full well how tough this Manchester City side will be as opponents.

The Cityzens gave a massive statement of intent with their 4-0 thrashing of Real Madrid in the semifinal second leg.

Pep Guardiola has gotten his team playing some breathtaking football. Moreover, the quality of Man City‘s squad makes clear the difficulty of what Inter are up against.

Sacchi: Inter Milan Not “Already Beaten” Even If Man City Incredible

Looking at City’s win over Real, Sacchi writes that “I have to admit that City really impressed me. They laid siege to Real, overwhelmed them.”

“They didn’t let them breathe, with a suffocating high press,” he writes of City’s approach. They played at a crazy pace and with an intensity and speed almost never seen.

“Guardiola’s players were everywhere.”

Sacchi hails the Cityzens’ “Continuous movement, always well synchronized. Very clear ideas, great spirit of sacrifice and a possession game that really resembled a musical score.”

City put in a “Performance of the highest level” in the view of Sacchi.

“Inter could hope that City don’t play at such a frenetic pace against them,” he suggests. “That they don’t have the same movement without the ball that they did against Real, that they don’t attack the spaces.”

“But I imagine Guardiola will try to re-load with the same plan, because he’ll want his team to have the same decisive impact.”

“However, Inter don’t start the match ‘already beaten,'” Sacchi continues. “Far from it.”

“I’ll give a detail – a few months, Inter’s showings in the league meant that they had little chance of saving their skin, but now they have plenty of chances.”

“This growth, which Inzaghi deserves credit for, saw Inter elminate first Benfica and then Milan.”

“And always fully deservedly,” he notes.

“And you always have to take your hat off to a team who win deservedly.”

“Inter arrive at the final in Istanbul in top condition,” Sacchi notes.

“I’m talking not just about physical condition, but also psychological.”

“The Nerazzurri have a large and competitive squad, the players are experienced and have great technical quality,” Sacchi adds. “In short, this is a grand old team.”
