Inter Milan are after Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini and Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the two are major targets for the Nerazzurri who’re looking to add young Italian talent to their squad.

As the Corriere notes, Inter’s run to the final has come on the back of the team looking more Italian than ever.

In defense, Francesco Acerbi and Matteo Darmian have replaced Stefan de Vrij and Milan Skriniar respectively.

Meanwhile, on the left flank, Federico Dimarco has been the heir to Ivan Perisic.

These three are now part of the Nerazzurri’s first-choice starting eleven. They join Alessandro Bastoni and Nicolo Barella, who have been key players for a few seasons now.

The Corriere observe that this is a much different-looking Inter than the one which won the Champions League in 2010.

That Inter famously started the final against Bayern Munich without an Italian in the lineup. Moreover, coach Jose Mourinho was not Italian, whereas Simone Inzaghi is.

Even on the bench, players like Raoul Bellanova, Roberto Gagliardini, and Danilo D’Ambrosio give this Inter a more Italian look.

Inter Milan Want Scalvini & Frattesi To Add Even More Italian Presence

According to the Corriere, the Nerazzurri would like to keep this theme going even more in the summer.

Inter are reportedly prepared to target two young Italian stars.

One is breakout Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini. The 19-year-old would be the Nerazzurri’s ideal target to replace Milan Skriniar.

Meanwhile, midfielder Davide Frattesi certainly made an impression with his performance and goal against Inter at the San Siro last weekened.

Accordingly, the Nerazzurri have marked the 23-year-old as one of their top midfield targets this summer.

Neither Scalvini not Frattesi would come cheap. However, Inter are ready to try and find a way to sign the duo.
