Legendary former Roma captain Francesco Totti admits that he would like to see Fiorentina win the Coppa Italia final tomorrow, but then have Inter Milan go on to win the Champions League in Istanbul next month against Manchester City.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, the Italy icon gave his thoughts ahead of the Coppa Italia final.
Inter and Fiorentina will both have a massive opportunity to compete for silverware tomorrow evening at the Stadio Olimpico.
For the Nerazzurri it’s an opportunity to really establish something in a competition that they won last time around. Meanwhile, for La Viola this could be a very special end to the season, marking their return to winning silverware.
However, even whichever team loses tomorrow evening could still win silverware.
For Fiorentina, there is the Europa Conference League final against West Ham United to come. Vincenzo Italiano’s team have forged a significant path through that competition.
Meanwhile, for Inter, the Champions League is only one match away from being theirs. It will be a match of the utmost difficulty against Premier League champions Manchester City.
However, if the Nerazzurri could win in Istanbul next month, it would be massive statement. Not just for Inter, but for all of Italian football.

“I’m expecting a brilliant final,” former Giallorossi captain Totti said.
“Inter and Fiorentina are both going into it in top physical shape. They’ve also got other European finals to come, they’re coming into it with the right mindset.”
Asked if there’s a favourite tomorrow, Totti said that “It’s hard to pick a favourite.”
“Anything can happen in a final,” he continued. “Between the two, I’ll say Inter.”
“But I’d be happy if Fiorentina win.”
“Then the Nerazzurri getting redemption in the Champions League would be great to see,” Totti added.
