Torino will look to sign wingback Valentino Lazaro on a permanent basis from Inter Milan this summer if Ivan Juric is kept on as head coach.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Austrian’s future should be decided by early June.

At the moment, Lazaro is on loan at Torino until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old missed a chunk of this season through a knee injury. However, he is now back fully fit, and is seen as an important part of the team by Ivan Juric.

It is not yet certain whether the Granata will make Lazaro’s loan a permanent deal next season, however.

Torino Future Of Valentino Lazaro Depends On Juric Future

A lot will depend on whether or not Juric remains as coach.

The former Hellas Verona and Genoa boss joined in the summer of 2021. It is not yet set in stone that Juric will stay past the end of the season.

According to FCIN, Torino will meet with the Croatian tactician in the coming days to decide upon the future.

Should Juric stay, he’ll want Lazaro to stay as part of his plans for next season.

However, in the event that Torino were to change coaches, their approach could change regarding the squad. Considering that Lazaro fits into Juric’s preferred formation with a back three and wingbacks, the former Hertha Berlin man would certainly have the current coach as his main sponsor.

Torino Want Discount To Sign Lazaro From Inter Milan

According to FCIN, Torino would seek a discount to sign Lazaro permanently.

The Austrian’s loan deal stipulates that the Granata have a purchase option worth €6 million. However, FCIN report that Torino are aiming to get a deal done for around €4 million.

Meanwhile, Torino could also sell Premier League-linked defender Perr Schuurs in the summer. If the Dutchman were to be moved on for a big fee, the Granata would certainly have cash on hand to sign Lazaro.

In any event, FCIN report that Lazaro’s agent Gordon Stipic will meet with Inter for talks soon.
