Legendary former AC Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi certainly isn’t expecting Man City to have an easy match against Inter Milan.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, via FCInterNews, the former Rossoneri coach gave the prediction that the Nerazzurri will make City “sweat” and that the Cityzens will have to work hard if they want to win.

There isn’t a lot of doubt that City go into next month’s final in Istanbul as favourites.

Record-breaking City striker Erling Haaland has admitted as much, and embraced the tag.

However, equally certain is that Pep Guardiola’s men will not be underestimating what they’re up against.

Throghout the knockout rounds, Simone Inzaghi’s Inter have proven adept at making sure nobody has an easy ride.

Sacchi: Man City Will “Sweat” Against Inter Milan

In the view of Sacchi, if the Cityzens are to finally turn all their quality into a Champions League winners medal, they’ll have to earn it against a tough and wily Nerazzurri side.

“Let’s say that in order to win the trophy, City will have to earn it,” Sacchi said.

“And they will have to sweat a lot,” he continued. “Because Inter have the qualities needed to cause anyone problems.”

“Guardiola knows he can’t make a mistake, because when you make a mistake against a tactician like Inzaghi, the tactician won’t let it go unpunished,” Sacchi noted.

Of how Inter go into the final, the former Rossoneri coach said that “The Nerazzurri are in good condition physically and we have to congratulate Simone Inzaghi, a good coach and a lovely person.”

“He took the team to the top right at the decisive moment.”

“And he’s proven wise not to react when players shake their head in discontent after being substituted,” Sacchi noted.

“Inzaghi has achieved great results,” the former coach said. “He’s won two cup competitions, and against Manchester City the result is not yet written.”
