AC Milan are tracking Inter Milan linked Borussia Monchengladbach’s France international striker Marcus Thuram.

This according to a report in today’s print edition of Rome based Corriere dello Sport, as reported via Milan based Inter Milan news-site FCInterNews.

According to the report, Inter Milan target Marcus Thuram is now also attracting interest from bitter cross-city rivals AC Milan.

Last season’s Serie A winners have had a poor defence of their title as they meekly surrendered the trophy to a rampant Napoli.

This, coupled with their early exit from the Coppa Italia and Champions League semifinal defeat in the Derby della Madonnina has led to calls for fresh blood at the club.

AC Milan & Inter Milan Tracking Marcus Thuram

Belgian international striker Divock Origi has failed to impress this season and is likely to leave the club. The former Liverpool man could potentially return to the Premier League.

According to the report, there is interest in him from West Ham and Aston Villa.

Ante Rebic is another forward who could leave AC Milan. The Croatian international striker’s last goal for the Rossoneri coming way back on October 1st.

Therefore, there is room in the squad to bolster the Rossoneri attack, the report adds.

Inter Milan’s links to Marcus Thuram have cooled down in recent months. The striker’s contract expires at the end of this coming June and will leave the club on a free transfer.

However, both Milan clubs have to fight off competition from the likes of Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, the report adds.

There is hope that his Italian links combined with Inter’s excellent season will sway him towards the Nerazzurri. Thuram was born in Parma, where his father, Lilian Thuram spent many years as a player.

Marcus Thuram signed for Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer of 2019 in a deal worth reportedly €12 million.

Since then he has featured 133 times across all competitions for the club scoring 44 goals in the process.
