Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku can only stay at Inter Milan on loan next season if three conditions are met.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who reveal Champions League qualification, reduction of the player’s wages, and financial agreement with Chelsea as the conditions the Nerazzurri must meet to bring the Belgian back.

According to the Gazzetta, Inter and Chelsea will meet at the end of the season to discuss Lukaku’s future.

The meeting will occur not too long after the Champions League final next month.

Until the Nerazzurri play the final against Manchester City in Istanbul, nothing will be clear regarding Lukaku’s future.

Three Conditions For Chelsea Star Romelu Lukaku To Stay At Inter Milan

The first condition that must be met if Inter are to bring Lukaku back next season is Champions League qualification for next season.

The Nerazzurri have two Serie A match in which to wrap up a top four spot. One point is all that would be needed after the points deduction to Juventus was reinstated.

Alternatively, Inter could qualify for next season’s Champions League the hard way. By beating City in the final of this season’s edition of the competition.

The second condition that must be met for Lukaku to stay would be that the striker reduce his wages.

Reports indicate that the 30-year-old would be happy to do so.

Lastly, there is the question of whether Chelsea would agree another loan deal.

The Blues may wish to keep Lukaku in the squad next season. Particularly if incoming coach Mauricio Pochettino is keen.

The player concerned has made his desire to stay at Inter clear.

However, the Blues could hold firm if Inter demand a lower loan fee in negotiations. The Nerazzurri are seeking a lower loan fee than €12 million, the fee agreed last summer.

Chelsea still have Lukaku budgeted for €69 million in terms of his amortized transfer fee, though. Accordingly letting him go out on loan for a small fee again would represent a big capital loss for the Blues.
