Chelsea-owned striker Romelu Lukaku has been named as the best performer in Inter Milan’s 3-2 Serie A win over Atalanta.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, give the 30-year-old Belgian international a score of 7.5/10 in the player ratings for yesterday evening’s clash at the San Siro, declaring that he was the man of the match.

Striker Lukaku is a player whose future at Inter is still up in the air.

There is little certainty as to whether or not the Nerazzurri and Chelsea will agree a new loan deal for the Belgian.

What seems certain, however, is that Inter will want Lukaku back if he keeps playing like this.

The Belgian has been back to something like his best form in recent matches.

Romelu Lukaku Named MOTM For Inter Milan Vs Atalanta

Lukaku has been scoring vital goals in Serie A in recently, and so it proved against La Dea yesterday.

The striker didn’t have to wait very long to get off the mark.

Lukaku scored inside the opening mark. The Atalanta backline looked hopeless as Inter moved from back to front quickly.

Lukaku’s pace, control, and cold-blooded finish gave the Nerazzurri an advantage that put them in firm control for a Champions League place.

The 30-year-old hardly let up from there. The Gazzetta note that it was Lukaku’s holdup play up against La Dea defender Berat Djimsiti that gave Inter a really foothold in the final third throughout.

Then, in the second half, Lukaku’s brilliant turn and pass set up Lautaro Martinez’s third goal.

That goal proved crucial as the Nerazzurri put clear daylight between themselves and Atalanta to see out the result.

Meanwhile, The Gazzetta give the same 7.5/10 score to both midfielder Marcelo Brozovic and striker Martinez. Coach Simone Inzaghi is also awarded with the same grade.
