Inter Milan wingback Federico Dimarco is set to be fit for the Champions League final against Man City despite missing out on yesterday evening’s Serie A clash with Torino.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the 25-year-old was only rested against Torino as a precaution.

Dimarco was not in Inter’s squad for yesterday evening’s match away to the Granata.

The 25-year-old was reportedly left back in Milan in order to be rested. The Gazzetta confirm this.

Dimarco was not quite deemed to be at 100% for yesterday’s match, on account of some muscular fatigue. Accordingly, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi decided to give him the match off.

This was obviously in view of the upcoming Champions League final against Manchester City.

Inter Star Federico Dimarco To Be Fit To Face Man City

Dimarco has emerged as a key player down Inter’s left flank this season. Accordingly, Nerazzurri coach Inzaghi will be very keen to have the 25-year-old fully fit for the final.

The Gazzetta report that there is little doubt that Dimarco will be ready for the final. He looks likely to start in spite of having not had a part to play against Torino yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Gazzetta give an update on the fitness of former Roma and Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Reportedly, the 34-year-old is not currently favourite to start against City. It is all but certain that he will be fit enough to be in the squad. However, Mkhitaryan has not played in almost three weeks.

Accordingly, the Gazzetta report, it will likely be Marcelo Brozovic who starts in midfield in next Saturday’s final.

Lastly, the Gazzetta notes, Inzaghi has a big decision to make in attack.

The coach has yet to decisively make up his mind on whether to go with Edin Dzeko in attack against his former club City, or whether to give Romelu Lukaku his first start in a knockout match this season.
