Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta feels that Inter Milan have reclaimed their rightful place on European football’s grandest stage.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of Saturday’s Champions League final against Manchester City, via FCInterNews, the Inter CEO stressed that from his perspective, the team have gotten back to where they belong by reaching European club football’s most high-profile match.

After thirteen years away, Inter are back in the Champions League final.

In the meantime, it’s been a tough road for the Nerazzurri. Numerous ups and downs have marked the past decade and change.

Over the last few seasons, however, the trajectory has been decidedly upwards.

Even despite some serious financial issues that have plagued the club, the trophies have returned to Inter. The Nerazzurri have won the Serie A title, and two Supercoppa Italiana and Coppa Italia trophies over the past three seasons.

Nowever, however, they have the chance to win a bigger prize than any of those.

In under a week’s time, Inter will face off against Man City for a chance at the big one. The Champions League final.

It hasn’t been a straightforward path for Inter.

However, from the perspective of CEO Marotta, it has only led the club back to where they belong.

Speaking to the press, Marotta said “Welcome to our home, our sports centre, the place where our adventure began on July 7 last year. The one that’s brought us to the most important stage in European football.”

“I say this with pride on behalf of the whole club,” he continued. “On behalf of Zhang.”

“First of all, the credit goes to the coach, the team, and everyone on the corporate side,” Marotta said

“This is the sixth time in the history of the club that we have reached the final,” he noted”This engagement takes this team back to the stage where it belongs in keeping with the history of the club.”

“We’re ready to honour this match, with respect for a top-quality opponent.”
