Inter Milan are close to agreeing contract extensions with Alessandro Bastoni, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Stefan de Vrij.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri could formalize the trio’s contract extensions shortly after the Champions League final as part of their efforts to secure the “spine” of the team.

Inter will not finalize any contract negotiations until after the Champions League final in Istanbul.

Right now, preparing for the showdown with Manchester City next weekend is the only priority.

However, as soon as the final is come and gone, Inter won’t wait around. The Gazzetta report that the Nerazzurri have already laid the groundwork for three major contract extensions.

Inter Milan To Secure Bastoni, Calhanolgu & De Vrij Futures

First, there is defender Alessandro Bastoni.

The 24-year-old’s current deal expires at the end of next June. However, Inter have prioritized agreeing an extension before next season starts.

The Nerazzurri have learned from bitter experience what can happen if they don’t lock a player down on a new deal and let him go into the final year of his contract via their handling of the Milan Skriniar situation.

The Slovakian rejected a contract extension offer and will join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

It has even been reported that, if Bastoni doesn’t pen a new deal, he could be sold in the summer. The Italy international is also a target for Manchester City, PSG, and Juventus.

However, the Gazzetta reports, everything is in place for a new deal for Bastoni. They should finish up the last details after Istanbul. He is set to extend his contract until the end of June 2028.

Meanwhile, Hakan Calhanoglu‘s current deal runs until the end of next June like that of Bastoni. However, Inter also want to act fast to extend his future.

The Gazzetta report that the former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen fan should pen a new deal until the end of June 2027. Everything is in place for that to happen shortly after the final.

Lastly, defender Stefan de Vrij sees his contract run out at the end of this month. According to the Gazzetta, however, he is very likely to extend until the end of June 2025.
