Inter Milan and PSG are the main candidates to sign Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram on a free transfer this summer.
This according to French news outlet RMC Sport, via FCInterNews.
Thuram is set to leave Gladbach on a free transfer during this summer transfer window.
The Frenchman’s contract with Gladbach runs out at the end of the current month. Gladbach’s Sporting Director Roland Virkus has made admitted that the player has no intention of signing a new deal.
There is no shortage of suitors for Thuram’s signature now that he is leaving the Bundesliga club.
Inter are reportedly keen on his signature, as are city rivals AC Milan.
The Nerazzurri have been in talks with the Thuram‘s representatives since the World Cup about a potential summer move.
Meanwhile, Inter had reportedly been very close to signing the Frenchman in 2021. However, a knee injury to the player prompted them to move on to other targets, signing Joaquin Correa from Lazio instead.
Not Just Inter – PSG Also Keen On Out-Of-Contract Gladbach Star Marcus Thuram
According to RMC Sport, however, the Nerazzurri would face the competition of PSG to sign Thuram.
The Parisians want to sign a centre-forward during the summer transfer window.
RMC report that the Parisians’ top target in this sense would be Napoli superstar Victor Osimhen. However, to date they have not made much progress in their chase of the Nigerian.
Accordingly, the French champions could be ready to go after Thuram as their second choice.
RMC note that one major advantage that PSG would enjoy in the chase of Thuram would be adaptation in the dressing room.
Thuram is a French international.
Apart from the fact that the former Guingamp man would naturally be happy with a move to the French capital, he has friends already at PSG. Namely, Thuram is friends with striker Kylain Mbappe and defender Nordi Mukiele.
