Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez considers playing in major finals for both Argentina and Inter Milan to be an “incredible feeling.”

Speaking in the official matchday programme for the Champions League final, via FCInterNews, the 25-year-old talked about fighting for major honours with both his club and country.

Inter striker Martinez has already won international football’s biggest trophy this season.

The Argentine international was part of the Albiceleste that triumphed in Qatar in the winter.

Now, Martinez may not have to stop there.

The Nerazzurri man also has the opportunity to pair that World Cup trophy with the biggest honour in the club game.

Inter go head-to-head with Premier League champions Man City tomorrow. If the Nerazzurri prevail, then Martinez can add the Champions League title to the Serie A title, the Coppa Italia, the Supercoppa Italiana, the Copa America, and the World Cup.

Lautaro Martinez: “Incredible Feeling” Playing In Finals For Both Argentina & Inter

“The last six months have been incredible,” Martinez said. “I had the privilege of winning the World Cup wearing the Argentina shirt, and I could win the Champions League with Inter.”

“In both cases, it was an incredible feeling, playing in shirts that I love.”

Of his goals against Barcelona, Benfica, and AC Milan in the Champions League, Martinez called them “Massively important goals that I wanted to score with all my heart.”

“The most exciting one is still the one against Milan,” he added.

Of what the key match in Inter’s run to the final was, Martinez said “The one against Barcelona, that’s when we convinced ourselves that we could dream big.”

Of tomorrow’s final, Martinez said that “We need to take to the pitch with personality, intelligence, and a lot of heart.”

“Which is what we’ve put into the whole season.”

“It will be important to be fully focused, and know that we’re still one step away from bringing home everything that we want to.”
