Inter Milan are looking to make the loan of Cagliari wingback Raoul Bellanova into a permanent deal this summer.

This according to SportItalia reported Gianluigi Longari, who reported in a tweet that the Nerazzurri’s inclination is to sign the 23-year-old on a permanent basis ahead of next season.

Currently, Bellanova is only on loan at Inter from Cagliari.

The wingback joined the Nerazzurri on a season-long loan deal from the Rossoblu during last summer’s transfer window.

However, Inter reportedly have an option to sign Bellanova on a permanent basis. And, according to Longari, they are thinking about going ahead and signing the 23-year-old on a permanent deal for next season.

Inter Milan Convinced Despite Mixed First Campaign For Raoul Bellanova

Things have not always been straightforward for Bellanova in his first season in an Inter shirt.

The Cagliari-owned wingback has made eighteen appearances in Serie A. He has also made 22 appearances in all competitions.

Among these were a substitute appearances during the closing stages of last Saturday’s Champions League final against Manchester City.

Not many of these have been from the start, however. Moreover, Bellanova has not always shown his best when he has been given the opportunity to play.

A personal low point for Bellanova was his appearance off the bench against Empoli in a 0-1 loss at the San Siro in January. That match saw the Nerazzurri fans in the stands boo the young wingback.

Bellanova admitted that this was a difficult moment for him to go through. However, he managed to put it behind him and win back the support of the fans.

In any event, Inter would seem to see enough in Bellanova from this season’s displays to believe there’s better things to come.

Longari reports that the club’s orientation is very much towards exercising their purchase option.
