Juventus are keen to sign former Inter Milan midfielder Cesare Casadei as part of a deal to send striker Dusan Vlahovic to Chelsea.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter sold young midfielder Casadei to Chelsea last summer.

Then aged nineteen, Casadei was a player who the Nerazzurri felt that they could cash in on for a significant fee. Chelsea reportedly handed over a fee that could rise to around €20 million including add-ons.

Casadei had starred as Inter’s Primavera team won the Under-19 Scudetto last season.

The teenager was hardly a player who the Nerazzurri were keen to get rid of. However, the financial situation at the club necessitated a sale.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri were willing to sacrifice Casadei, as well as striker Andrea Pinamonti who joined Sassuolo, if it meant keeping hold of some of the bigger name players in the senior squad who had been the subject of transfer interest.

Juventus Want Promising Former Inter Star As Part Of Vlahovic Deal With Chelsea

In the season just gone, Casadei has yet to make an impact in the crowded senior Chelsea squad.

However, a spell on loan with Reading in the Championship started to demonstrate his qualities.

Casadei still has a very high reputation as a prospect. This was only further enhanced by some outstanding displays by the ex-Inter midfielder for Italy at the Under-19 World Cup.

Accordingly, the Nerazzurri’s Serie A rivals Juventus are very intrigued by the idea of bringing Casadei back to Serie A.

The Bianconeri feel that they could do just that if they are to sell Vlahovic to Chelsea.

The Blues are looking for a centre-forward during the summer transfer window. Serbian international and former Fiorentina man Vlahovic is a player they like very much.

Juventus are ready to ask for Casadei as part of a deal for Vlahovic.
