Former Inter Milan defender Daniele Adani feels that Nerazzurri transfer target Davide Frattesi could complement Nicolo Barella well.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster RAI Radio 2, via FCInterNews, Adani gave his thoughts on Inter’s pursuit of the 23-year-old Sassuolo midfielder.

All reports suggest that Inter are going in hard to try and sign Neroverdi midfielder Frattesi this summer.

The Nerazzurri want to make a signing to reinforce the midfield. The young Sassuolo star and Italy international appears to be the man they want to bring in.

It is not hard to see why, in many respects.

Frattesi has been something of a breakout star in Serie A during the past couple seasons.

This has attracted the transfer interest of Juventus and Roma among others. The Italian’s style of play has also earned him comparisons to Inter star Nicolo Barella.

This could give a clear indication as to why Inter are so keen on Frattesi.

Barella is, in a certain sense, a symbol of how Inter aim to play in midfield. The 26-year-old former Cagliari man is a real all-rounder, something which is key in keeping the Nerazzurri’s central trio ticking over.

Adani: Inter Target Frattesi Can Play “With Or Instead Of” Nicolo Barella

For his part, Adani is a big fan of the very versatile skillset that Frattesi can bring to a team like Inter.

“He’s a young player who can do everything in the middle of the pitch,” the former defender said. “Because he has an innate sense of when he should time things.”

“Then, he also has the ability to score goals.”

“These characteristics are required in modern football,” the former defender argued. “He’s shown that he’s a very high-level player.”

As for how Frattesi could fit into this Inter midfield, Adani gave the view that “He could play with or instead of Barella. They’re absolutely compatible.”
