Empoli have come forward with signing Inter Milan striker Sebastiano Esposito on loan for the upcoming season.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Tuscans have asked for information from the 20-year-old’s agent about whether or not he would be interested in joining on a season-loan loan deal this summer.

At the moment, Esposito is a player who’s future is up in the air a bit.

The 20-year-old had a fairly positive end to the campaign on loan with Bari. This had followed a more difficult spell with Anderlecht in the first half of the season.

However, the loan with Bari will expire at the end of this month.

The Calabrian side had been hoping to make it to Serie A via the promotion playoffs. However, they were heartbroken as a last-gasp Leonardo Pavoletti strike in the second leg of the playoff final meant that they’ll spend another season in the Italian second division.

Bari have reportedly shown an interest in renewing Esposito’s loan move.

However, it’s not clear how the club’s failure to achieve promotion to the top flight will affect things.

Empoli Inquire About Inter Milan Starlet Sebastiano Esposito On Loan

Despite the disappointment with Bari, Esposito’s future could still be in Serie A next season.

According to FCIN, Empoli have spoken with the 20-year-old’s agent. The Tuscans are keen to sign Napoli midfielder Michael Folorushno, who was a teammate of Esposito on loan at Bari.

Since Esposito has the same agent as Folorushno, his name also came up in the talks.

Reportedly, Empoli inquired about the possibility of signing the Inter striker on loan for the season.

The Tuscans are gearing up to replace a different young Nerazzurri striker who’d been on loan at the Stadio Carlo Castellani last season. Martin Satriano is set to return to Inter after his loan deal runs out.
