Inter Milan and Italy wingback Federico Dimarco is very happy to receive praise from Real Madrid legend Roberto Carlos.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia following Italy’s 3-2 victory over the Netherlands in the Nations League third-place playoff, via FCInterNews, the 25-year-old expressed his happiness at getting praised for his performance by the iconic Brazilian fullback.
Dimarco has enjoyed something of a breakout year over the last twelve months or so.
This has been true both for his club and country.
For Inter, the 25-year-old has cemented his place in the first-choice starting eleven. Having been behind Ivan Perisic in the pecking order in the previous season, he made the position this time around.
Holding off the competition of Robin Gosens, Dimarco has been a key player in some of Inter’s best performance.
The wingback started for the Nerazzurri in the Champions League final against Manchester City. He had been a crucial component of Inter’s entire run to the final of Europe’s biggest club competition.

Dimarco has not only been in some of his best form for Inter. He has also shone for the Italian national team in recent international breaks.
The 25-year-old’s deliveries and range of passing have made him a key man in attack for Roberto Mancini’s Azzurri team just as he is under his coach at club level Simone Inzaghi.
Dimarco was named as the man of the match in a 3-2 Italy win over the Netherlands.
The Inter star scored the Azzurri’s opener, and looked a threat down the left all afternoon.
These kinds of performances are earning Dimarco recognition. Including from some former greats of the game.
No less than Real icon Roberto Carlos complimented Dimarco on his performance after the Netherlands match.
