The agent Porto midfielder Otavio is reportedly in Italy where he could be in talks with Serie A duo Inter Milan and Napoli.

This according to today’s print edition of Portuguese newspaper Record, via FCInterNews. The newspaper note that Otavio has a €40 million release clause, and claim Inter and Napoli are interested.

Portuguese international midfielder Otavio has been one of Porto’s most important players in recent seasons.

The 28-year-old had been sent off during the first leg of a Champions League round of sixteen tie against Inter. However, Otavio had shown with his performance in that match why he is a key player for the Portuguese team.

Under Sergio Conceicao, the versatile midfielder has had a key role linking midfield and attack. This was visible in how the 28-year-old was at the heart of Porto’s midfield press.

His combative style proved disruptive of Inter’s attempts to build up possession, even if in the end the Nerazzurri won both that match and the round of sixteen tie over both legs.

Porto Midfielder Otavio Could Join Inter Milan Or Napoli

Record suggests that Otavio could well be in for a move to Serie A.

Intermediaries have already offered Otavio to Inter in the past, according to reports. However, he has to date always stayed a Porto, the club he’s played for since 2016.

Otavio has made 281 appearances for the Portuguese giants so far. He also vice-captains the club, behind former Real Madrid defender Pepe.

According to Record, however, Otavio could well get a big move this summer.

The Portuguese has a release clause in his contract. It had been €60 million, but it has dropped to €40 million, according to Record.

The newspaper claim that that release clause is valid until July 15.

According to Record, Otavio’s agent is currently in Italy. The newspaper claim that this could be for talks with both Champions League finalists Inter and Italian champions Napoli.
