Striker Romelu Lukaku is ready to dig in his heels with Chelsea this summer – he wants to stay at Inter Milan and won’t consider other options.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

At the moment, Lukaku is occupied with international duty with the Belgian national team.

Following the disappointment of defeat in the Champions League final, the 30-year-old had little time to rest. He joined up with the Red Devils’ team retreat ahead of their Euro 2024 qualifying matches.

Lukaku was on the scoresheet against Austria yesterday evening, grabbing an equalizer for Belgium in a 1-1 draw.

However, once his international duty is wrapped up, Lukaku is ready to immediately start sorting out his club future.

Reportedly, Lukaku is annoyed that Chelsea are stalling in negotiations with Inter. The Blues aren’t too keen to agree another low-cost loan move to the Nerazzurri.

For fairly obviously reasons, the Londoners would rather cash in with a permanent sale. As such, in the initial talks with Inter they haven’t given a green light to another loan to Inter, preferring to wait and see what other offers arrive.

Romelu Lukaku To Tell Chelsea – Inter & Only Inter This Summer

However, the player concerned is of a different mind from his parent club. The Gazzetta report that the 30-year-old isn’t even considering other possibilities than staying at the Nerazzurri.

Given that Lukaku’s current loan expires at the end of this month, he wants the clubs to hurry up.

The Belgian wants to have his future clarified soon, and for it to be at Inter. He has little intention of returning to Chelsea even temporarily.

Accordingly, the Gazzetta report, Lukaku will hold a meeting with Chelsea. The meeting will not include Inter in any way, and will just be between player and club.

The Belgian will stress the same thing to Chelsea that he did last summer. He is determined to return to Inter on loan again, and won’t accept any other options.
