Inter Milan could offer midfielder Stefano Sensi plus cash to Monza to sign wingback Carlos Augusto this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who also report that a Robin Gosens sale would be a necessary precondition for the Nerazzurri signing 24-year-old Brazilian Augusto.

Inter have made Augusto a major target to strengthen in wide areas for next season.

The Nerazzurri are convinced that the Brazilian can make the step up after an excellent first season in Serie A. In something of a breakout campaign for the Brazilian, Augusto scored six and assisted five goals.

Inter have a strategy to try and lower Monza’s asking price for Augusto as well.

Inter To Offer Monza Stefano Sensi + Cash For Carlos Augusto

Stefano Sensi spent the past season on loan with Monza. Whilst the former Sassuolo man dealt with an injury and was not always part of the starting eleven, he did show his class on plenty of occasions playing under Brianzoli coach Raffaele Palladino.

Accordingly, Monza could well aim to sign Sensi on a permanent basis.

As such, the 27-year-old will very likely come into talks for Augusto. The two Lombard teams could agree on a deal which sees Sensi join Monza permanently as the Brazilian heads in the other direction.

Inter Milan Must Also Sell Robin Gosens Before Signing Carlos Augusto

One thing that’s also clear is that Inter won’t sign Augusto unless they sell Robin Gosens.

With both Gosens and Federico on the left, the Nerazzurri would have little reason to sign another left wingback.

However, the German is a player the Nerazzurri could cash in on this summer. Union Berlin, Wolfsburg, and Bournemouth are all keen on a move for the former Atalanta man.

Given that Inter paid around €25 million to bring Gosens in from La Dea, they will want a significant transfer fee for him, though.
