Man United could cool their interest in signing Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana as they’re ready to go after Everton’s Jordan Pickford.

This according to UK tabloid The Daily Star, who report that the 28-year-old England Number One is now the Red Devils’ top goalkeeping target to replace David De Gea should the Spaniard not sign a new contract, rather than the Nerazzurri keeper.

As The Daily Star note, United are still aiming to agree a new deal with De Gea.

The 32-year-old Spanish international’s current contract runs out at the end of this month. United would like to agree an extension to keep De Gea at Old Trafford for another two seasons.

However, United want the former Atletico Madrid star to accept a pay cut from  £375,000 net per week to £200,000 per week, note the Daily Star.

Should De Gea decide that he doesn’t want to accept this substantial decrease in pay, he’ll be on his way. The 32-year-old can leave on a free transfer.

Accordingly, The Daily Star notes, United are drawing up their list of possible goalkeepers to sign.

Man United Favour Everton & England Star Pickford Over Inter’s Onana

Inter keeper Onana has been persistently reported to be a target for Unted.

The Cameroonian only joined the Nerazzurri on a free transfer from Ajax last summer. However, his performances this season have already earned him some major admirers among Europe’s elite.

Particularly in the Champions League, Onana has been one of Inter’s standout performers.

Chelsea have reportedly been chasing the 27-year-old in recent weeks.

However, the Blues are far from the only big club think about bringing Onana to the Premier League.

United, however, may well decide to drop out of the race for the Cameroonian. According to The Daily Star, the Red Devils have made Everton’s Pickford their top target in goal.
