Sassuolo are pushing to complete a deal to sign young Inter Milan striker Samuele Mulattieri in the coming days.
This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri value Mulattieri at between €5 million and €7 million, and that he could be part of a deal for Davide Frattesi but won’t necessarily.
Young striker Mulattieri has spent the season just gone on loan with Lazio-based club Frosinone in Serie B.
The 22-year-old scored twelve times for the Giallazzurri, helping them to reach promotion to the top flight as second division champions.
Frosinone triggered a purchase option to sign Mulattieri on a permanent basis. However, Inter have signed him right back via a buyback clause in the deal.
Sassuolo Pushing To Sign Inter Milan Starlet Samuele Mulattieri
Inter’s plan for Mulattieri is certainly not to keep the striker around for long, however.
The Nerazzurri intend on offering the 22-year-old to Sassuolo as part of a deal for midfielder Davide Frattesi.
Frattesi is a major target for Inter. The Nerazzurri have already held extensive talks with the Neroverdi towards the aim of signing the 23-year-old.
FCIN confirm that Sassuolo are very keen to sign Mulattieri. And it is true that the striker’s name has featured prominently in talks between Inter and Sassuolo for Frattesi.
However, the outlet report, even if Frattesi doesn’t join Inter, the Neroverdi are still pushing to sign Mulattieri.
He is a target entirely irrespective of the fate of Frattesi.
The Emilians could simply sign Mulattieri for a fee without Frattesi being involved. They will have to pay Inter between €5 million and €7 million.
According to FCIN, Sassuolo are pushing to wrap up the signing of Mulattieri soon.
The Neroverdi want to hold talks within the next 48 hours. They don’t want to wait around as they consider the 22-year-old an important target for next season.
