Inter Milan striker Samuele Mulattieri will reportedly join Sassuolo regardless of how the transfer saga of Davide Frattesi ends.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a splendid campaign at Frosinone, helping his temporary employers secure Serie A promotion by finishing on top of the Serie B standings.

For his part, the on-loan attacker contributed with 12 goals and four assists in his 29 appearances in Italy’s second tier.

The youngster’s loan stint expires at the end of the month but he won’t return to the Appiano Gentile next season. Instead, he’ll reportedly ply his trade at the Mapei Stadium.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInter1908, Mulattieri will complete a switch from Inter to Sassuolo in a separate transfer from Frattesi.

In recent weeks, several reports claimed that the young striker will be a part of the package that the Nerazzurri offers for Frattesi’s services.

But while the latter’s transfer to Inter seems uncertain at the moment, it won’t affect Mulattieri’s future.

As the source explained, the youngster expressed his clear desire to join the Neroverdi while the two clubs are working on the right formula to finalize the deal.

Mulattieri is a youth product of Cesena who joined Inter in 2018, initially joining the Primavera squad.

While he’s primarily a centre forward, he can also serve as a second striker or a winger. The 22-year-old joined the Italy U21 squad for the European Championship. The tournament is currently underway.
