An emerging transfer report has told Inter Milan how much they have to pay to trigger the release clause inserted in the contract between Otavio and Porto.

According to Portuguese sources Record and A Bola (via FcInterNews), the Nerazzurri are keeping tabs on the Portugal international.

Otavio met Inter Milan on the pitch this season when Simone Inzaghi’s men eliminated Porto from the Champions League round of 16.

But despite the defeat, the 28-year-old made enough impact to warrant the attention of the Nerazzurri directors.

As the source reveals, Inter can trigger the release clause of the midfielder by paying 40 million euros. However, this clause will reportedly expire on July 15.

Otavio started his career in Brazil with Internacional before making the switch to Porto in 2014.

He represented the Brazilian national team at the U20 and U23 levels before switching his allegiance to Portugal. He has made 14 international caps with the Portuguese national team, scoring three goals in the process.

The 28-year-old enjoyed a splendid campaign with the Dragao, contributing with seven goals and 13 assists across all competitions.

He primarily features as a central midfielder but can also play as an attacking midfielder or even on the wing.

Moreover, the source claims that Inter Milan would especially consider making an offer  for Otavio in case Nicolò Barella were to leave this summer.

While the Nerazzurri wouldn’t want to sell the Italy star, perhaps the situation would change in the face of a tempting bid.
